In recent years the rhythmic aspects of the Monolake project have from time to time been modified by Torsten Profrock aka T++. Here the man himself remixes a track from the mighty 'Atlas', continuing a theme of influence from Cern's Large Hadron Collider by conducting its own particle experiment with an extraordinary feat of rhythmic gymnastics from the cutting edge of techno science. Febrile drum patterns surrounded by immense darkside drones in turn remind us of Peter Rehnerg's KTL project and the most advanced variant of post-techno shenaningans imaginable. On the B-side 'Test#10Seed_Bit' strips back the density of 'Atlas' to reveal sleek rhythm mechanics underpinned by swooping subbass depths, once again proving the work of Monolake and T++ to be light years ahead of the field.

In early October 2008, the swedish installation artist Fredrik Wretman contacted me, because he wanted to use my Monolake piece Indigo for an installation. I liked the idea, but found it a bit inappropriate to simply play back the same song again and again in a loop. Instead I isolated some elements from the original piece and transformed them into slowly evolving atmospheres to match with the aura of Fredriks installation, Tap Tim, which radiates a sense of timeless contemplation, one single calm and focused work of art in a large gallery space.

With my laptop and my pre-prepared atmospheric sounds I came to Ostersund a few days before the opening and created a constantly permutating and endless multichannel soundscape based on some of the sounds of the Indigo piece. During the installation the music is played back from three CD players, each of them containing a slightly different version of the soundscape, each with a different playing time and each fed to speakers located in different parts of the gallery. As a result, things never fully repeat, and the sound is slowly travelling thru the space, filling the room like a perfume.
